Founded in France, 1961, by the iconic Yves Henri Donat Mathieu-Saint Laurent. The creator of the “Le Smoking”, the first-ever women’s tuxedo suit that quickly became a symbol of emancipation in the 1960s. He is also noted for his popularization of women’s trousers for all occasions. Yves Saint Laurent’s career started with an assistant job at Christian Dior in 1955.
